Description:
Known for his very slender and lightweight designs (i.e. Nori, LRF, & Wasabi) Kansei Matsuno combines elements of Japanese style with modern construction and materials. Offering the same style in a more robust gentleman's folder, the Boker Takara has the same elegant lines with the added utility of a more burly construction. This version comes with a satin finished D2 blade and Carbon Fiber handle scales. Brand new, direct from Boker Knives. Blade: With a durable, reverse Tanto point the blade of Takara is more durable than most gentleman's carry knives for enhanced utility. The blade rides on a ball bearing pivot and deploys fast and smooth using either of the top flipper tabs. Horizontal satin finished D2 tool steel is executed in a high hollow grind that blends durability and slicing performance seamlessly. Jimping file work on the spine adds style and traction in the hand. Handle: Solid stainless steel liners support modern, Carbon Fiber handle scales for an elegant yet functional platform. A nearly full length stainless steel back spacer adds heft in the hand and protects the blade during carry. The liner lock mechanism is smooth, secure and reliable in use. A hollow tube is provided for lanyard attachment. Carries via a right hand, tip-up, 3D machined pocket clip. D2 Tool Steel: D2 is a cold work tool steel that has been used as a die cutting steel since WW II. D2 has a high chromium content for a tool steel (10-13%) which gives it greater corrosion resistance than most high carbon steels making it semi-stainless. D2 offers a good combination of toughness, corrosion resistance and wear resistance for a good all-around knife steel.
